5 Ways to Wellbeing - Giving

This month at the Happiness Hub we thought the well-being theme of 'Giving' would be very apt leading up to Christmas.

Giving doesn't have to be costly and take the form of an expensive present, giving someone some help, your time and a friendly ear can mean so much more and also make you feel rather good too.

Our December calendar below gives you a few more ideas on how you can give to yourself and others during the festive season.

When we give to others it activates the areas of the brain associated with pleasure, social connection and trust and makes us HAPPY!!!!

Altruistic behaviour releases endorphins in the brain and boosts happiness for us as well as the people we help.

Here's how you can get involved and make a difference:

  • Take daily actions using our calendar above and join in on our Facebook group and share with others what YOU do to keep active

  • Go deeper & learn more by joining our local Happiness Hub weekly Tuesday night group

  • Start Giving and try something new by following our daily kindness and giving calendar and daily Facebook prompts

  • Spread the word on social media #HappinessHub #Giving

This month's theme is based on Exercising: Giving from the 5 Ways to Wellbeing >> Find out more about the 5 Ways to Wellbeing.

Listen to Happiness Hub Episode 27 where Liz talks about how volunteering has been a big part of her life since she came to Nantwich.

Giving and connecting are strong values that Liz holds dear and she talks about how making time to connect with friends, colleagues her community and her husband helps her to stay happy and fulfilled.
